Supporting Neurodiverse Families and Neurodiverse Children

When you or a loved one is undergoing assessment, newly diagnosed or on the journey it can be an overwhelming, highly anxious, and worrisome time.

It is important that you have support, accurate and quality information, and provision of options; and The Spectrum Pharmacist aims to provide this alongside your healthcare collaborative team.

Hello, my name is Yvette, I am the creator of the Spectrum Pharmacist.

I am a clinical pharmacist with experience in community pharmacy, aged care, consultancy, and hospital pharmacy settings over the past 16 years.

The Spectrum Pharmacist concept arose from personal and professional experiences, overwhelming emotions, knowledge overload and exceptional highs.

The aim to combine these personal experiences as a mum to two boys on the spectrum and professional knowledge as a pharmacist to provide information, education, personal tips and experiences to help you in your spectrum journey.

How does a Neurodiversity Clinic Work?

Each Neurodiverse Squad Clinic will include individuals, parents or carers capped at 20 participants for a 2-hour online session with presentation by myself, The Spectrum Pharmacist. The clinic will include overview of DSM diagnostic criteria, my personal story, comprehensive medication details, compliance tips and COVID-19 implications, along with dedicated time for questions. Each clinic will have an age focus to allow for adaptations relevant to that development milestones. A private social media platform will be available for participants moderated by The Spectrum Pharmacist post clinic, and then after 3 months will be merged into a single Neurodiverse Squad group. I hope you can benefit from what The Spectrum Pharmacist aims to provide and I look forward to being part of your journey.
