About Us

PharmOnline is an advisory service that aims to provide Australians with 24/7 remote access to registered, experienced pharmacists. It is a service that is particularly valuable to people that are isolated and are unable to easily access their local community pharmacy or other health services.

PharmOnline solves medication and health enquiries and empowers people to understand and value their medication. Our experienced pharmacists are ready to provide health and medical information to you, in order to empower you to make informed decisions about your health concerns – whether you be in your home, at work, or even out having a coffee.

Anna Barwick

Director and Pharmacist

 Anna is a registered pharmacist with over 15 years’ experience in the industry.

Anna has been working as a pharmacy practice academic and researcher at the University of New England (UNE). Anna is a credentialed asthma educator, is accredited to undertake Home Medication Reviews (HMRs) through the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists (AACP), delivers Mental Health First Aid and has skills in women’s health and vaccination.

Anna lives on a property near Walcha with her pharmacy owner husband and two young children.

Brooke Snow

Cancer Care Pharmacist

Brooke currently operates from the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre in Cairns, Far North Queensland. 

Brooke completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy through James Cook University and has since completed both a Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy through the University of Queensland. 

Gaining experience in Cancer Care, Clinical Trials and Palliative Care, Brooke has realised that her true passion lies within patient communication.

Having knowledge about their medications, in often trying circumstances, can help patients shape their future journeys in the best way possible.

Living in beautiful Cairns, Brookes’ family includes her young son and big golden Labrador dog.

Greg Kyle

Pharmacist

Greg is a registered pharmacist has most recently been the Professor (Head) of Pharmacy at QUT.

Greg has a PhD in pharmacy practice and has previously worked in the Education and Information Unit at Mater Health, leading the national call centres, Medicines Line and Adverse Medicines Events Line.

Greg is a previous community pharmacy owner and has skills in drug information, cardiovascular disease management, complex conditions/patients and preventative medicine.

Deborah Hawthorne

Pharmacist

Debbie is a city-born, country-loving pharmacist based in beautiful North East Victoria.

She lives with her husband (also a health professional) and twin 3 year old girls.

Debbie has over 10 years experience as a pharmacist and is currently a private consultant pharmacist completing Home Medication Reviews throughout North East Victoria and a GP Pharmacist in Wangaratta.

Additional qualifications include AACP, MHFA, Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Graduate Diploma in Information Management.

Yvette Anderson

A current role of Yvette’s is as a clinical pharmacist at a large regional public hospital where she performs inpatient services on medical, surgical, orthopedic and psychiatry wards. Yvette also has an interest in pain management, children’s health, medication safety, and best practice policies, involving herself in reviews, development, and education whenever possible.
 
A 2005 graduate of Charles Sturt University, Yvette gained experience working at a community pharmacy, a private hospital, an aged care facility, a consulting business, as well as public hospital practices. 
 
She is a graduate of Mental Health First Aid, Asthma Management with the Asthma Foundation of Victoria, and Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy. She is now pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies with plans to move on to her Masters of Autism in 2022.

Yvette’s specialist area of interest is neurodevelopmental conditions and in  2020 Yvette launched The Spectrum Pharmacist, which utilises Yvette’s professional knowledge and experience. These skills combined with her personal experiences as a mum to two boys on the spectrum, enables Yvette to provide information, education, personal tips and experiences to individuals and families on their spectrum journey.

Katie Phillips

Pharmacist

Katie is a hospital outreach pharmacist – she conducts home-based medication reviews with people recently discharged from hospital.

In this role Katie works as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping people better manage their medications and chronic health conditions. 

Katie’s specialist areas of interest include chronic disease management (including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and falls prevention), medication adherence, medication management strategies and clinical review.

Katie is passionate about empowering people in self-management and reducing medication-related harm.

Pharmacist

Jamie-Lee has been working in community pharmacy for the past 6 years and is currently studying with the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists (AACP) to become accredited to undertake home medicine reviews.

Jamie-lee is passionate about disease prevention. Jamie is Brisbane-based and is busy raising her young family.

Laura Gledhill

Laura Gledhill is currently studying through the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists (AACP) to become accredited to undertake home and residential medicine management reviews. Laura intends to pursue a clinical career in rural Australia and is excited by the opportunities that telehealth can play in this.

She enjoys creating relationships with prescribers and patients to ensure medications are optimised and patients are empowered to manage their own health.

Vsila Vekaria

Pharmacist

Vsila is a qualified pharmacist of over 20 years and a mother of two teenage boys residing in WA.

Having educated and graduated in UK, University of Portsmouth, Vsila has been a registered pharmacist in Australia for the past 15 years and holds a Community Clinical Pharmacy Diploma (CCPD). Vsila also speaks Gujarati and Hindi (both Indian languages).

Her current role at the largest public hospital in Perth WA, has allowed her to manage multiple inpatient, outpatient, ward and specialised clinical (Opthamology) pharmacy departments.

Her key passion lies in providing the highest quality of service for patient healthcare needs through ethical and meaningful pharmaceutical health care advice, focusing on empowering patients to manage their own health.

Vsila is an advocate of always wanting to ensure remote regional patients fair equally in obtaining quality health care support, irrespective of challenges presented through geographic boundaries. She has often participated in remote pop-up health camps across international locations in support of charity funded eye clinics. 

Vsila is currently studying through the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists (AACP) to become accredited to undertake home medicine management reviews.
